Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel

FOR A GLOWING EVEN SKIN TONE

World's leading depigmenting treatment designed to eliminate or reduce dark spots of melanic origin on skin, while unifying the skin tone and enhancing skin luminosity.

What is Cosmelan?

Cosmelan Depigmentation Treatment is a type of peel used to reduce unwanted pigmentation in the skin. It consists of two different types of product applications: a mask applied by your skin therapist and a cream applied at home. It is usable on a variety of skin locations, including the face, neck, hands, and legs, and it is effective at combating hyper-pigmentation, melasma (pregnancy mask), acne scarring, and other discolouration of the skin.

Cosmelan works by inhibiting melanin production. Melanin is responsible for the dark pigmentation seen on the skin. The body produces it as a response to UV exposure, but hormones, ageing, and acne may also trigger it. By inhibiting a specific type of enzyme (tyrosinase) that is directly involved in the production of melanin, Cosmelan can reduce melanin production and the discolouration it causes in the skin.

What does the treatment involve?

The two-phase intensive treatment program firstly involves the application of a highly potent de-pigmenting mask. This is applied at the clinic and it is not washed off for up to 8-10 hours following application. The second treatment phase is at-home maintenance creams that should be applied twice daily to enhance the effects of the mask.

Two to three days after the treatment is applied, the skin will begin to flake and peel. For these first few days, the face may feel tight, itchy and be slightly red. On day 3 you will have a follow up treatment in the clinic of LED light therapy and peptide mask to calm and sooth the skin.

How many treatments will I need?

The Cosmelan Depigmenting Facial Package includes a one time in-clinic peel and 8-12 weeks worth of Cosmelan depigmenting homecare products. Clients will need to continue on the recommended homecare for a total of 6 months then continue using a tyrosinase inhibiting homecare regime ongoing after this to prevent the return of the pigmentation. Your skin therapist will educate you further throughout the process of your Cosmelan Depigmenting Facial Package.

How long will results last?

As long as maintenance skin care is continued, the results from a Cosmelan Peel can last for years or be permanent.

What does the treatment cost?

The cost of the Cosmelan including the in clinic peel and seven full sized homecare products is $1,150. A second pot of Cosmelan 2 home maintenance cream will need to be purchased at 8-12 weeks post treatment for $298.
